We were all told all throughout our lives that if we go to school and get good grades, we'll get good jobs.
Except when you graduate, you may have noticed that it doesn't usually work by just applying online to your favorite companies for the coolest positions.
You've spent a lot of time doing things like this with limited (or no) success. Things may seem hopeless. You may wonder how anyone gets a job these days with how competitive it is.
The overused mantra of "It's not what you know, it's who you know" is continuously proving to be true.
There is no nobility in telling yourself something like "I'll do this alone by hard work. I don't need help from anyone." We all need help from others to succeed.
This course will walk you through starting out on a successful career. It is primarily a "how-to" on networking (because I've found that's the best way to accomplish your goals, such as getting a great new job), but with many other useful tips and tricks to supplement that. It should also be helpful to those that aren't sure where to start their career search.
Your Instructor
Jared is the stereotypical millennial.
He was under the assumption that getting a good job was easy and that life's answers would just pop up easily.
Only after an important realization at his first job did he see that the actual world is driven by other rules.
Jared wants to help other millennials like him learn networking and other essential skills for helping them start on the career paths that are meaningful to them.
